Firstfruits

This passage in Colossians is one of my favorites. It feels like a triumphant crescendo. It's a revelation of Christ being the first, the foremost, and the center of all things. This revelation elicits unshakeable confidence in His unwavering strength, His sovereignty, and His power to keep His promises - promises that extend even to those who feel undeserving.

Christ, as the 'First Fruit', represents the first of a great harvest offered to God, a sort of divine tithe.

 

I chose grapes because of the symbolism throughout scriptures of wine and Christ as the vine, illustrating our calling to be like Him and share His love with others, as we embody and spread the spiritual fruits that stem from our relationship with Him.

 

Embrace the triumphal message of Colossians 1:15-23, which empowers us to trust in His preeminent power and encourages us to overcome feelings of condemnation, unworthiness, or being downtrodden.

The name of this scarf comes from 1 Corinthians 15:20, “But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.”
