A Prayer for Wisdom: Asking God to Guide Your Decisions

As believers in Christ, we are truly blessed to have a loving Father who is invested in our lives and cares about the decisions we make. Your desire to seek God's will in your life is a testament to the faith you have in Him, and this sets you apart from those who do not acknowledge God or have little faith in how much He cares for us.

Embracing the Desire for God's Will

Your desire for God's will to be done in your life speaks volumes about your faith and love for Him. As the Bible says in Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." When you care about what God cares about, He rewards your devotion and faith.

It is this trust and love for God that will guide you to the path He has chosen for you. As Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." Your faith in God and desire to follow His lead will be rewarded.

God's Call and the Desire to Follow His Lead

The desire to follow God's lead is a gift from Him. He called us unto Himself, and our prayers for wisdom and guidance are a reflection of what He has already placed within us. As Philippians 2:13 says, "For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose." By seeking His wisdom and guidance, we are participating in cultivating the Kingdom of God within and around us, collaborating hand in hand with our Heavenly Father.

Knowing God's Word

To discern God's will for our lives, it is essential to be familiar with His Word. The Bible is a living testament to God's desires, actions, and promises. By immersing ourselves in Scripture, we sharpen our discernment and learn to recognize His voice, guiding us in our present circumstances and future decisions.

Desiring God's will and seeking His guidance in our lives is a beautiful reflection of our faith and love for Him. Trusting in His wisdom and immersing ourselves in His Word will lead us on the path He has chosen for us. As we embrace this journey and surrender our lives to Him, we can rest assured that our prayers for wisdom will be answered, and our decisions will be guided by His loving hand.

A Prayer for Wisdom & Guidance

Oh wise and wonderful Father, living, present, and Ancient of Days, I trust You. You have been a friend, a counselor, a comfort, my peace, and my deliverer. I cannot imagine life without You. There are no words and no works that will ever make me deserving of the gift of Your presence, but I will never stop trying to please You. Bend my will to Yours, and set the eyes of my heart on the things that You love. Sharpen my discernment to know the right path and let the fragrance of Your spirit embolden my own, encouraging and rousing me to walk in it. In the eternal name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
